Privacy Policy

Phone number — required to create and verify your account.

Name (first and last) — used to identify you to other crew members on shared events.

Profile photo — optional. Shown to other crew members.

Job title and company — optional. Shown on your profile.

Email address — optional. Provided during account setup if you choose to enter it.

Event details — name, dates, venue, and your role. Created by you when you set up or join an event.

Documents you upload — call sheets, PDFs, spreadsheets, and other files. Stored and indexed so the AI assistant can answer questions about them.

AI chat messages — questions you send to the assistant and the responses you receive.

Device information — push notification token, used to send you alerts. Platform and OS version for crash diagnostics.

To operate the app — creating your account, showing your profile to crew, sending alerts, and running the AI assistant.

To process payments — event creation fees are handled by Stripe. We pass your payment details to Stripe and do not store card numbers ourselves.

To send you app alerts — urgent crew alerts and event updates via push notification.

To improve the app — aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us understand what's working.

To respond to support requests — if you contact us, we use your information to help you.

To send you occasional news and updates about Stndby — only if you opt in during signup. You can opt out at any time by contacting hello@askstndby.com.

The AI assistant is powered by Google Gemini. When you send a message, your question and relevant content from your event's uploaded documents are sent to Google to generate a response.

Google processes this data in accordance with their terms of service and privacy policies. We do not use your chat content for any purpose other than generating your response.

Document content is indexed in Google's Gemini File Search infrastructure. When you delete an event or your account, we delete the indexed documents from Google's systems as part of that process.

Other crew members on your events — your name, photo, job title, and role are visible to other people on events you join.

Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle your payment information.

Google — AI assistant responses (see Section 3).

Firebase (Google) — our database, file storage, and authentication infrastructure. Your data is stored on Firebase servers.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers.

Your account data is kept for as long as your account is active.

Event data — documents, crew lists, alerts, and chat history — is kept while the event is active and for a reasonable period after.

If you delete your account, we delete your profile, documents, owned events, and chat history. Payment records are retained for financial and legal compliance but are flagged as belonging to a deleted user.

To delete your account, go to Settings in the app.

You can update your profile at any time in the app.

You can delete your account at any time through the Settings screen. Deletion removes your personal data, owned events, and uploaded documents.

Stndby is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we'll let you know through the app.
